Louisville, Kentucky/ Indiana Area

Michael and I stayed at Lake Rudolph Campground, and we really enjoyed our stay there! There were a lot of golf carts going the wrong way down one ways in their campground, but what are you going to do? We didn’t know this when we booked our two-week stay, but I guess they celebrate Halloween every Saturday from September 1st to October 31st! Wow! So we quickly ran out and grabbed some decorations and candy to pass out. It was fun, but there are a lot of trick-or-treaters… we ran out of candy because we got 230 and there were still more. We felt terrible, but how were we supposed to know?

Michael’s uncle and aunt were kind enough to offer us a few tickets to Holiday World, which is right next door to Lake Rudolph. So we got to experience Holiday World for free! It was a lot of fun, and we really enjoyed our time there. They have sections of the amusement park named after different holidays. The roller coasters were fun, but boy were they hard on the head and the legs. Both Michael and I could only go on the coasters six times that day before we called it quits! The coasters are just so jerky that it’s more stressful than fun. I almost expected bruises with how much the outsides of my thighs hurt! But overall, it was nice to get out there because both Michael and I haven’t been to an amusement park for over a decade!

While we were there, we also cooked up some squab, which is pigeon! It was okay, but a bit tough for us and a little too gamey for me. Michael and I probably won’t ever eat it again, but we did also try cooking up partridge, and although that was a bit tough it was delicious.

Our drive to Memphis, TN went reasonably well, and there is nothing to complain about. We look forward to exploring the area.
